So my adorable Maltese has never been a dog to scarf his food down like there was no more food left. But he would eat a fair amount. Recently he's hasnt been eating as much. I have been giving him a bit of NutriCal to make sure he at least gets something in addition to his kibble. He was on Cali Nat puppy and now i am trying to transition him to small bites adult.
We are just now finishing the last of the puppy food. I have tried samples of some other brands to see if he will be more inclined to eat those and nothing. i tried Eagle and Prairie (2 different flavors)
I did notice he likes other dogs foods. I walk this other dog who is on Royal Canin and Natural Balance (meat rolls) and he seems to LOVEE that combination.
But when i checked the dog food analyisis website i wasnt too pleased w the results of it. But if he likes it should i make the switch? Or what would you recommend? I dont want to try and give him to many other brands since he sometimes has a delicate stomach. I want to make sure he is eating enough. A friend told me if hes hungry he will eat bc he will not starve himself. I just feel bad if he doesnt eat and especially since i want to establish a more stable routine w him. He eats when he wants NOT when i want him to. Thus he has a weird poop schedule. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
