SM vBulletin Test Site Now Up - Maltese Dogs Forum : Spoiled Maltese Forums

Hi everyone,

Here is an opportunity to take a sneak peak at the vBulletin version of SM.

You can start looking around here:

http://vbulletin.spoiledmaltese.com/

As soon as you land on the site, you will be prompted to input a username and password. Use the following.

User: spmalt
Pass: bark4012

This is just for our testing site (the live site won't require this user authentication).

Once you are "in" you can proceed to the top right hand corner and input your usual log in name and password.

Please keep in mind that the test site was built using data from 10 days (or so) ago. That means it will not have posts or threads or even users who registered after this time period. Again, it's only a test environment.

When SM goes "down" tonight for the conversion, any data (posts, images, users) on the site prior to this time will be transferred over to the new site.

Some new little 'toys' and 'gadgets' to play with it looks like. But it looks very similar to what we are accustomed to and easy to navigate.

Need to know something please. When I look at CeeCee's Mom page, in the albums of my two dogs, there is a wrong picture of CeeCee as the album cover (never seen this dog in my life) and I go into her album and there are 4 dogs in there that do not belong. Also not all pics transferred into both my dogs albums. Is this just a fluke or is it wrong??

One thing that I did notice is that the paid vendors did not have recognition as one on their posts. I am also a paid member and also a paid vendor and that didn't even show up. Is this something you are still working on or what?

Other than that I do like the site and it seems a lot cleaner and clearer to read. Good job so far.

I'll bring this up with my tech team. Could be a glitch in the test environment. Stay tuned.

Lucy, we are working on the issue for the paid vendors and paid members. I will check with our team to see if the images that say "SMC Vendor" and "SMC Member" will carry or if we will have new images to denote these.

Dianne, I'm back.

You can change the album cover after the conversion if it's still wrong (or not what you want):
Click Picture in Album > Edit Picture > This is the album cover.

A few pictures may not import properly if there are issues with how they are stored on the current site. (Filename / Format / Issues we have experienced with avatars in the past). Any missing pictures would need to be reuploaded to the albums.

If there are pictures you do not want in you album, you delete them:
Click Picture > Edit Picture > Choose delete option.

The biggest thing for everyone to remember is that our team is doing everything they can to convert everything over with as little issues as possible. It's a huge undertaking (especially with all the data on this site) and if there are glitches or something that isn't the way it's suppose to, please everyone, do your best to exercise patience and we'll address it in due time. So far, you folks are doing a fantastic job.

Yes.

SM will be down from 2am Tuesday March 9 to at least 12pm Tuesday March 9. This is in Eastern Standard Time.
