Well, I know I would feel pretty left out if I was in an entirely different hotel than my friends. Most likely, they will be talking about something fun they did while in the hotel around your daughter, and she may feel a tad envious or lonely.

I think 40 dollars is worth the extra fun your daughter could have with her friends during the night.

That's a good point. If everyone else is staying at the new place, I'd go there, so your daughter doesn't feel excluded.

I think this is a great opportunity to teach your daughter about not following the crowd and bowing to peer pressure. Let's face it; that's what this is about. If the coach's wife weren't staying at a different hotel, you wouldn't even be thinking about this. Your daughter is at an age where teaching her to make her own decisions is paramount. You don't want her to drink, do drugs, have sex or participate in other dangerous activities just b/c her friends are doing so. There no reason your daughter can't hang out, swim, etc at the other place until bedtime.
