Default Univ. of Ky Basketball Telethon for Red Cross

The University of Kentucky basketball coach and players had a "Big Blue Nation Cares" telethon last night to raise money for the American Red Cross. At least $500,000 was raised and donations are still coming in. Not bad for a local telethon.

Also, a lady in our community is filling a U-Hall with blankets and warm clothes to take to a New York rescue mission.

I would love to hear stories of how other people in our nation and world are helping Sandy victims.

I do not have any particular story as uplifting as this one, but just wanted to say it's great to see that people still care about each other. That means the world still has some hope...

Who says Malteses are supposed to sit on a fancy couch all day long?
What about a lil' digging in Mommy's garden instead?

Donations reportedly are now about a million dollars. A check is supposed to be presented before the University of Kentucky/Maryland game tonight.

Time to "pony up" UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE coach and fans!!!

That's so wonderful. We've seen volunteers coming in from all over including those from Louisiana who really know what this is all about. Restores my faith in people when many are so cynical.
