Well last night was Molly's first night.. The whining and crying were horrid! She slept maybe 3 hours on my chest. I'm so tired! But she is sleeping now! Lol any suggestion how to make the nights go easier and sleep arrangements??

Maybe have her sleep on a little doggie bed next to you or on the bed with you... Probably because she was taken from her mother too soon...

Bless her little heart. She's in new surroundings and misses her sibling(s). I have never been able to ignore a crying pup or baby. I always hold them until they're calm. Good luck and just be patient with her, she won't be a baby for long.

There is actually another post that I JUST commented on, so I may look nutty repeating myself...lol!
How old is Molly??? If she's not the full 12 weeks, that may be the reason for her crying so much. Where do you have her sleeping (or SET UP to sleep)??? |

A laundry basket!
Put it next to your pillow in bed (do you have a husband? LOL).... I had Grace sleeping in a laundry basket on my bed for a few months. It was a nice contained space she couldn't get out of and if she peed (never did) it was easy to clean up. I put a small crate pad in there and a tshirt of mine. She slept great. Really it is the closeness she needs. Remember she would be sleeping *with* her mother and siblings right now. So try not to force her to be in a crate or alone.... Mothering an abandoned pup is HARD WORK and much like having a newborn -- they need you 24/7 - literally. But it is rewarding work... and in a month or so she can start transitioning to "normal" puppy routines.

Laundry basket sounds like a great idea or put lots of blankets around wherever she is sleeping at the moment like a little nest so that she feels really snuggled in like she would snuggle up to her mum???

Is it possible for her to sleep with Louie? When I brought MiMi home Ray was really loving towards her and always looking to take care of her.
Perhaps Louie would be up to taking over some mothering duties for the tiny baby.

Oh poor baby, and poor you. Hopefully she'll settle in soon. Such a traumatic experience for that little one, taken away from mom and siblings, ending up in a dumpster, a long drive and strange home. It won't take long and she'll only remember you and your kindness. Hang in there, it'll get better.Who knows maybe tonight will be a good one!!

I wanted to make sure it was ok for her to sleep with me and I was not teaching her bad habitats. As for her sleeping with Louie I'm afraid he may me to rough with her not meaning to

Ours slept with us from day one,I got mine at 8 weeks. They did really well only a couple accidents, mostly if they felt sick, no potty accidents... we had small doggie beds for them , at first,I was worried I might roll on one but they did fine...
Wasn't long they slept on our bed w/o doggie beds...
