That is a miniature schnauzer. We had a black one like that who passed 6 months ago. I hope upon hope that you find it's home.

Aww he's a cutie pie, sounds like someone just likes to let him run the neighbourhood. I had a former friend do that, saying "oh Penny won't get hit, she's too fast" well Penny got hit....Notice I called her "former friend"..
Either way, if he belongs to someone who lets him run, not a responsible owner.
If the pound kills after three days try calling a rescue...and tell them he's a stray, since as far as you know he looks like one, can would be...even though he was a collar....

Oh what a dilemma. He may be an escape artist. My father's little terrier escaped twice...well possibly some bad person opened the gate and let him out. At any rate he wandered quite far away from home, somebody took him in and saved him from a freezing night.
My aunt called the police...lol, but that's how they got him back.

I think the idea of luring him into your garage is the best idea.

Great news!! His name is Tanner and he's a two-year-old Schnauzer. His daddy saw the signs we put out this morning and called me.

He just left with him. He said he darted out the door last night and ran off and Tanner's mommy has been up all night worried and driving around, looking for him until real late and now she's going to be so happy to have him back. They live in our neighborhood on another street. I know he's the real owner because he'd told me Tanner's name on the phone and when I called him that, he came to me. Then when the man got here, he ran right up to him. He's a little shy around us humans, but when he saw the man, you could tell he knows him.
