I wanted to share my ornament tree and its story before I pack it away for the year.
When my son was born in 1977, I began collecting Hallmark ornaments-one for me and one for him. When my other two children were born, I also started a collection for them and continued this tradition until 1997. My oldest son died in September that year and I think I put up a tree that December, but my life was such a blur I really don't remember it. When my marriage broke up a year later, my soon-to-be-ex-husband did everything he could to hurt me. One of the most hurtful things was taking my ornament collection. I asked him many times over the years to return them to me, but he never would. Well, last January his lifestyle finally caught up with him, and he suffered a massive heart attack and died. When my children cleaned out his house they returned the ornaments to me! I purchased this ornament tree to display my prized collection once again after 15 years! I knew it would be emotional to decorate the tree, but my three-year-old grandson helped me and made it fun. I have really enjoyed having my collection home again. ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPad using PG Free

YES! You aren't going to take it down really soon are you? I breaks my heart when I see poor Christmas trees sitting like trash on the side of the road on December 26th. I grew up with the idea that it was one whole week of celebrating.

It!s beautiful!! I'm glad that you have your ornaments back too. I'll bet having your grandson helped you through some sad memories. With his help, you and he are making some new memories together, and next year maybe baby sister can help a little too!

It is so beautiful; I am so sorry that your life has been so difficult these last few years, but very happy that you were reunited with those ornaments that have so much memory for you.
