Thank you all so much for your kindness and prayers. I hope all of you have also been sick are beginning to feel better. My fever finally broke at 10:30 last night, after everyone had gone to bed. My family left to go home to Alabama at 6:30 this a.m. I did not get to spend any time with them. I was very, very sick. I have been in bed asleep and with a fever, since they arrived. Today will be the first day I've changed clothes or showered ~ I simply could not stand for more than 5 minutes without trouble.

I am heartbroken about not spending time with my family. Though they too were all sick, they were able to come & go and laugh and play with Bella. I basically would wake up to the sounds of their voices, I'd cry a little and drift back to fevery sleep. I think I just need some time to get over this missed opportunity to be with my family. Right now, I'm just really sad.

(((Bridget))) I'm just now seeing this. I'm so sorry you've been sick and couldn't spend time with your family. My heart is broken for you. Is there any way y'all can plan a "do over" or could you travel to see your Mom in Alabama when you're feeling better? My prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry your family visit did not go as planned. I'm glad you're fever is gone. Perhaps you can plan another family time soon. I understand the feeling of sadness....we drove two hours on Christmas Day to see my family, were there about an hour, then had to leave because of a freak snowstorm - very unusual for Texas! I was really in the dumps about it.

Hope you feel better real soon.

Bridget ... I am sorry you have been so sick. And, of course, it is such a downer that you were not able to feel well enough to really enjoy time with your family. I hope you begin to feel better real soon.

Sending you lots of healing hugs.

Bridget, I am sorry too that your family time was interrupted by illness! I will ask God to make a new plan for something w/your mom! Where in AL do they live? We have a home in Vestavia Hills but have never really lived there.

That's so disappointing, I'm sorry things didn't work out and you couldn't enjoy the visit.

We're all entitled to a little pity party now and then, and you certainly had good reason for one. To so look forward to being with family and then be too sick to enjoy them is a huge disappointment.

Any chance you can find 5 days or so and go visit? It's about 10 hours between VA and Huntsville, doable in one long driving day each way (easier with 2 drivers). 5 days would give you 2 travel days and 3 days there. Planning the trip would help you feel better right away about this disappointment, even if it wouldn't be for a month or two.
