Debbie,

You convinced (shamed?) me into taking my tree down. Now it is supposed to be -3 on Thursday, so I need to get going on my outdoor decorations.

I am a bad person.

I put my palm tree that lights up where I usually put my Christmas tree and put ONE ornament on it. Just one.

I blamed it on Griffin saying he would never leave the Christmas tree alone and he might chew a bulb and get shocked. Again, I am a bad person.

We took our stuff down today as well. Dusty was especially happy, as that means that the Ssssscat that stood by the tree is now back on the kitchen counter where it belongs. He got Sssscated a couple of times and didn't like it! Stoooopid Cat Hole ruining his Christmas.

I wish mine was down. I love it up until the day after Christmas and then can't wait for it to be cleaned up .

I stopped doing the tree about 10 years ago. It was so depressing to see all the poor dead trees sitting on the side of the road on December 26th. So DH brought out the trimmings and I said, " just put them in the trash...and we won't kill a tree." Of course, I don't have grandchildren or kids coming to visit. I'm done with it, but I feel sad. Now, you still have a vibrant household. But, I do have to wonder, what was the hurry? Isn't Christmas supposed to last a week? I'm not being argumentative, I sincerely wonder why people who love Christmas are in such a hurry to get it over with?

Well this stuff has been up since Thanksgiving and I'm tired of cleaning around it!! I also have to work all next week, which means I wouldn't get to it until next week end and that would drive me crazy!! I do love Christmas but I also like normal.

Deborah, I am thinking one reason it's probably better for you to put the Christmas decorations and trees away sooner is because you care for small children and infants. I do admire you for taking care of children that need medical treatments while in your care ... and, I imagine certain Christmas plants and/or trees could exacuerbate allergies. I know pine trees can.

If I didn't say so before. ... the pictures of your house with the Christmas decorations looked beautiful!

Okay.You start early. I certainly understand that if you put up the tree in the beginning of December, not only are you tired of it, but it is dry and brittle. You did have a good time, and now it is time to get back to everyday stuff. I will be there in a few days...so it goes.
