Default Just an all around update

So, as you all know, Sophie and I went to Texas last week. She was absolutely fantastic on the airplane.

Okay, I accidentally pressed enter before I was done.
She didnt make a single noise, I was so proud. During our layover in Austin i layed out a disposable pee pad for her and she sat on it and gave me this look of "mommy, no. This looks like the floor and I'm not allowed to go potty on the floor." Everyone loved her. The first day we were there she fell asleep on my dad and that's all it took, he was in love. My parents have 2 Boxer/Rhodesian mixes, one of which (Shiner) was injured by his mother as a young pup, so he has a blind spot in his right eye. Sophie isn't the best socialized, so when she meets a new dog she growls, then she gets used to them and wants to play. Well when she growled it made Shiner feel threatened and he tried to lunge at her. So, unfortunately we had to keep them separated for the visit, but it was to keep Sophie safe. She did a great job transitioning from indoor pottying to outdoor pottying. We flew back home Christmas Day, and that was an emotional and stressful day for me. Emotional because I was leaving my family, stressful because our plane was delayed after boarding and they wouldn't let anyone off unless you were going to miss a connecting flight. So we sat on the plane for 5 hours before we even took off, and by the time we were up in the air and they were serving food and drink, they ran out of food by the time they got back to my row. I was starving after I got off the plane. After 9 hours of not being able to move Sophie was a complete angel. People complimented how well behaved she was. I'm a pretty proud momma we had bath day today, and man, for those of you with fluffs in a full coat, I commend you. Sophie's coat is getting pretty long, she actually needs a trim, and it takes FOREVER to blow dry. Okay, so that's all for now, I think it's picture time

So glad you had some time with your family. What a travel nightmare to get home. I know I wouldn't be as good as Sophie. My worst fear is to get stuck on the Tarmac.

So glad to hear Sophie did well on the plane. And she looks sooo cute in this pic. We cancelled a trip to New Mexico and did a roadtrip instead because we weren't confident about Gustave flying, but your story encourages me to try it sometime.

Aww, Sophie!! Such a good girl...and when your mommy really needed you to be too!

That's so sweet how she won over your dad. I love the way these little babies can make grown men melt!

I'm so sorry about your nightmare flight home. I hope they offered you a way to make up for having to wait so long on the plane and running out of food.
