.....was when we lost my Dad. It really doesn't get any easier even with the passage of time. I feel so bad for so much exciting family stuff he has missed out on. In the past 5 years he has missed the weddings of 4 grandchildren and another grandchilds wedding coming this summer and the birth of 5 great grandchildren. He would have loved to been a part of all this excitement. His favourite song was Amazing Grace so my daughter named her 1st child Grace, in memory of my Dad. Sorry to vent but I find it just helps to write this all down.

I'm sorry for the loss of your Dad.My parents are still with me, but are getting up there in years. I know they won't be here forever, and I feel sad at times. I can only imagine your sorrow. If I could I'd give you a big hug!

Recalling memories of our loved ones has a healing effect on us---it helps to keep alive in our hearts the beauty & spirit of the missing person. I send you warmest hugs Kathy! I thank God that you had such a special relationship w/your dad!

Kathy - sending you a big virtual hug.
It's hard knowing that your dad has missed out on so much but I'm sure all the family love and events he ever took part in were near and dear to him. I lost my dad when I was 6 so I felt he missed everything - though of course he experience my brother's and my birth and adored my mom. He was happy with his life up to the point when he died suddenly so I try to think of him as blessed. It's us down on earth who have a harder time.

Kathy-I am sorry you lost your Dad.
It's hard to think of love ones no longer here during the holidays esp. Mine are both gone now. Christmas has NEVER been the same for me, since losing my mother few years back. I go back to all the mornings as a kid finding her the presents from "Santa" and how proud she was to see us all so happy ..

Kathy, it is hard when we lose our parents. Both of mine are gone and your right, it is still hard when I think of them and all that has happened since they passed. Big hug to you.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. I know how tough it is to lose someone you love so much. My youngest brother, who was like my "baby" and my father-in-law, who I was closer to than my own dad died within a week of each other 6 years ago and I still miss them terribly. At special times, I try to tell myself that they're not really missing it, but are watching it all from Heaven.
