Yesterday at work my BF crushed his hand on a forklift
He went directly to the ER for an X-Ray, and from what they could see there are no broken bones, Thank goodness! However (now those of you in the medical profession will understand what this means more than I do) he has abrasions and lasorasions and possible torn tendons in his hand (sorry for the terrible spelling:/) it's currently in a soft cast and he's on Vicodin, 600mg ibuprofen for the swelling, and some sort of antibiotic to take care of any infection he may get from the cuts (forklifts are pretty dirty) that he has to take every 6 hours. We'll find out more on Thursday about the extent of his injuries. Please pray that his pain gets better, right now he's in a lot. Pray for patience, as he's frustrated that he has to ask for so much help, and for a speedy recovery, that his injuries aren't too serious. If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can do to make him more comfortable, that would also be appreciated.Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Oh Gosh!! what a terrible thing to have happened! Praying the pain meds kick in so he'll be more comfortable and that he heals quickly with no complications!

have him keep his hand elevated, that should help with the swelling and also the pain. keep it elevated higher than his heart, i just had surgery on my hand and they gave me a big sponge type thingy to help keep my hand elevated.
sorry the picture is not better but it is the best i could do with one hand
