I want to thank you, my SM family, for all of your kind words and messages since my mother's death. I have to say, I've been on an emotional roller coaster since she died. Parts of me still have not accepted the reality that I will never see her again. I know I have some difficult times ahead, but it's nice knowing I have the support of all of you.
I have to tell you a story that I have already shared with Bridget (Summergirl73). My mom loved Heidi (the maltese I lost last January). So when I was meeting with the florist, I asked if she could make an arrangement that looked like a little white dog. She did an amazing job. We had it on the corner of the casket during the viewings and when they closed the casket, put it in with my mom. She would have liked that. I feel like I have been gone from here for such a long time. It will take me some time to catch up on all that's been going on. Thank you again for your support during this difficult time. |

I am so sorry for the loss of both your mom and of Heidi. That sounds like such a cute floral arrangement. Did you get a picture of it? I'd love to see it if you did.

No, actually we didn't get a picture. The florist delivered it directly to the funeral home so we didn't see it ahead of time and I didn't feel comfortable taking pictures there. But I'll probably have this arrangement made again -- maybe for mother's day. I promise to take a picture then.

Honey, you WILL see your mom again. You will see her in your dreams, and in your dreams she will be young, healthy and full of life. And you will wake and be happy. You will also fall on the floor sobbing for years to come, when something reminds you of your mother and how much you have lost. My mother left me when she was only 61...that was in 1983...and I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face, partly for you and your loss, as well as for myself. Sigh.

Karen - losing one's mom is so hard. But I know that she will continue to guide you. I always "listen" for my mom's wisdom when I have big decisions to make. And I always hear it. The floral arrangement sounds beautiful and meaningful to her and to you. Glad you're back here. Take your time, with everything.

What a special gift to the memory of your mom,
There are a lot of emotions and experiences to come. Some will actually make you laugh, others will give you a warm feeling, others will scare you, others will drive you to tears; each day is a further step in the journey through the healing process. There are times I think my mother is still her, I forget she is gone. Last night I thought she was calling me for help, and I semi-wokeup screaming I am coming. You should have seen the look on Lucky's face. Take especial care of yourself. The stress can really wear you down and can be a drain on your health. |

Oh, I forgot to mention that at this trying stage in your life, you have angels to guide you. Feel your angels and listen to them. They are dedicated to helping you through this very hard time. Listen to them. I know that when I was loosing my mother the angels were hovering close. They told me things I could never have imagined on my own. They gave me strength. Tune in to your personal angels...they love you...and they love your mommy. Honest. Life is eternal.

Karen I am sorry about the loss of your mom. I think the best thing is to remember them and then you will feel close to them no matter where you are them are at.
