Deb, believe it or not I am also a homebody! It may "sound funny to you, but it really is true" (words from a song). There are pluses & minuses to almost every situation! I did not choose this life-style, but it has become comfortable to me (well, mostly) over these many years. I try to grieve well when I leave someplace so I can put the past in the past & live in the present. I don't think that is as easy as pie!
And I do miss being w/my girls & that grand-baby---but when we get together it is really quality time & pure heaven!

14 years in one place is a long time. You get attached. At least you are going to a "nice" country, tho when it comes to weather it's not going to be the same than Greece. You will have to buy a "fake" fur coat. And boots. And learn to drive in snow. Exciting !

Although I have never been to Autstria, it is such a beautiful Country and the language spoken there is German. And since I speak German fluently, I would love to visit Austria. My dream to to visit the many Christkindle Markts over there during the Adven/Christmas season. So please Sandi, please send pictures when you finally move there.

Sandi I can relate to you so much! I've moved 9 times, and all to separate countries (Greece included) and it is true, we do leave a little piece of our hearts wherever we move. But hey! It's always a new adventure Austria sounds exciting!! Wish you, your husband, and your girls all the best!! Keep us updated and make sure to take lots of pictures for us!! xxx

Sandi- wow! I'm gone for one day and look at this news!! Bittersweet i guess, leaving Greece, but u can always visit. Glad Vienna will mean shorter flights for all of you. My friend took a river cruise to Nuremburg, Salzburg and Vienna right before the holidays and i was drooling over her albums!! The markets, natural scenery and buildings. Like fairy tales i used to read. Good luck.

Congrats!!!

You need to get Kitzel and Liesl some lederhosen and a dirndl dress How cute would that be

I know moving is hard, planning a move like that is stressful, and leaving a place you've lived in for a long time is hard.... I'm glad you allow yourself to grieve and let go. You have good energy You'll do great....

I hear Austria is lovely

Congratulations. I'm sure there will be ways in which you like living in Vienna better and things about Greece you miss. But, hey I don't think you will need to worry about Lepto...at least there isn't as much risk in the cooler climate.
