I love the old Valentines!! When in elementary school, I remember giving the biggest Valentine to someone that I really liked!
They don't make them so detailed now. I have no idea what this old one means?? ![]() I love the wording on this one ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some modern ones ![]()

Those are lovely
I love pretty cards.... The first one's saying is from the 1800s.... Basically women were kept at home, and that was their place to manage and show off their husband's hard work. Totally nutshelling it

I remember those good 'ol days too! Such fun. And, we would decorate bags or boxes to collect our Valentines in. We would do this in school as part of art. Its not like that anymore. My son is six. The teachers hand out a list of the names of the students in the class and each child sends a Valentine for everyone on the list. As far as I can tell in my experience with my son, no one makes homemade, embelllished Valentines. Its all store bought and printed with the most popular cartoon characters, etc. My son LOVES dogs, so while he doesn't pass out homemade Valentines, he usually selects something with puppies or dogs on them and then we make goodie bags for his classmates with candy, pencils, erasers, stickers (dog theme), etc. So many things about the various holidays are not like they were when I was a child. It makes me sad. |

Maybe some places still do it? I used to work with people with kids 4-6yrs old and I remember two kids gave me a hand made valentine. They made them at school. It was cute!
