I bought this several years ago at a little antique store. It was so tarnished almost all green and black.
I keep polishing it and I really like the piece, but I'm not sure what it is. I know it holds some kind of beverage(tea or coffee?) it has a spigot and two small tea pot looking containers. It would be nice to know what I've been polishing all these years! LOL ![]()

In quick search on 'how to use"...look what came up.. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...lectedIndex=37

Deb, I think it is a samovar---used for tea. It looks like a Turkish/or Russian one, but I am not an expert. It is lovely.
Edit: try looking at these: http://www.russiansamovars.com/russi...l-samovars.php #S45 looks like yours! 6,000$

Hopefully someone in my family will end up loving my antiques. I tried to give my daughter some of my silver and she said.."No way, I don't want to clean it!" Maybe Rosslyn will???

Yes, it definitely skips a generation! I have lots of antiques in the US & my girls are sort of the same way, except for the stuff from the Black Forest---mainly furniture. I, too, have lots of silver stuff which always needs to be cleaned & polished---they won't want that for sure. I do have a Steiff teddy bear collection--mostly limited editions, even a Richard Steiff bear along w/some old German bears. I love teddies!

That is so funny. I do get tired of hand washing the silverware. I started putting the everyday silver in the dishwasher and it got all tarnished and icky. Then I started using the stainless more. One night, after I went to bed, DH polished all the silver and HID the stainless.
