Hi, I am excited to have found this site and be able to connect with other Maltese owners. We will be picking up Isabella on November 30th (her 12 week birthday). We have been so lucky finding breeders who love their Maltese and care only for their welfare. We had to fill out a detailed questionaire before we were put on their waiting list. Zita and Gyula are a fountain of information. We visited them in July; they run a small home-based operation. We were very impressed with them and their dogs. Isabella's mom had just been bred. We were able to meet both parents. They also had two 12 week old pups from their other female so we got to see them as well. Once Isabella was born, we got photos every week and additional ones when milestones were met (example, a series of photos taken over 8 hours when her eyes opened). We visited her when she was 8 weeks old. She is so adorable; can't wait to get her home. It will be a challenge as we live 800 km (500 miles) away and it is winter.

I went and picked up my little Sophie about 4 weeks ago from a breeder that lived 4 1/2 hours away. We had to drive over the mountains and we were lucky that right as we were having to drive over the pass, it cleared up, kinda like God was saying it was meant to be.

Thank you all for making me feel welcome. I have been looking over the site and the pictures of all the beautiful little Maltese. So many totally adorable little dogs. Isabella will be our first Maltese; however, we have always owned a canine friend or two throughout our marriage. The last photo I received has Isabella in a flower pot. You will notice her "gizmo" ears; they are sticking up. Our breeder says about 50% of Maltese go through this stage, but she assures us that they will go back to normal. She has seen puppies stay in this stage until they are 6 months and she is not sure why it happens. It makes her look even more adorable. I will post it in the gallery.

I looked at your album. Isabella is so cute. The gizmo ears are too funny. There are a couple of Malts here who have stand up ears and they always make me smile.
