Hi, everyone! You have a great, active forum here!! Thank you for having so much great info available for everyone who needs it!
I have a 13 week old Papillon puppy named, Magnolise Avec Bravissimo - call name, "Bravo." (Magnolise is his kennel name, Avec Bravissimo is a French / Italian musical term that loosely translates to "With Greatness"), I won't post too much because I don't have a darling little Maltese...but I joined because many of the grooming, nutrition, and conditioning is the same for many of the coated toy breeds........and Bravo has tons of white! I found many great tips here....especially for dealing with tear stains. He doesn't have bad tearing, but I wanted to be proactive in keeping his eyes clean. I hope no one minds my being here ![]() Bravo and I start handling classes in January (too busy through December to commit) and I plan on showing him amateur owner/handler classes in conformation. My last Pap was shown with a handler, but Bravo's breeder has encouraged me to give this a try.....so we will see how it goes! It's pretty daunting. Here's my little guy (4.4 pounds) - hard to believe how much you can love them so much in such a short time (I've had him three weeks). My favorite head-shot :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Awww Bravo is so sweet!
Gus is not Maltese either ... but everyone here sees him as an "Honorary Fluff" ![]() So welcome Bravo! I love Papis... I love their ears! Can't wait to see more photos of him!

Hey!! Thanks, so much, guys!! I appreciate it so much. I have been reading this site, daily, for two - three weeks. There is a huge wealth of information here - and I'm so grateful!! I found some excellent grooming tips - especially for the white coat and tear stains! Big help. Also lots of great nutritional info (I'm feeding Acana Wild Prairie).
I am a member of a great Papillon message board, but it is new and just starting to build its database of information. I have referred a couple of other Pap members here for the same reasons. Thank you for sharing all this!! I LOVE Malteses (is that the correct plural form?). There is nothing quite like a snowy white face with button-like eyes and nose!!! Even if you choose not to groom a show-coat, that puppy cut is irresistible!!!! I think Paps and Maltese share a lot of similar personality traits....though I've only met a few Maltese, they have all seemed to be very people-centered, happy, outgoing companions...it's the same with Paps. Paps are as close to "wash and wear" as you can get for a dog with long hair. They take some grooming, to be sure, but it's not too big of a job. Thank you, again, for making me feel welcome - even though I don't have a Maltese...that' really nice of you guys!

Oh, and I forgot to mention....I took about a hundred pictures just to get those few, above. He's like the little Ever-Ready bunny!!! He goes and goes until he can't stand it....then he crashes!!!
Here's a cute/funny video of Bravo with one of our British Shorthair cats, Frosty
