Miss Lucy Girl Is New In Town - Maltese Dogs Forum : Spoiled Maltese Forums

Hello Everyone!!

Lucy and I have just joined the community!! We are especially excited to meet and mingle (virtually of course) with all other maltese and maltese lovers alike!

Lucy is a 1 year and a few months old maltese mix I was gifted her exactly one year ago today. I cannot even image my life without her now, and dont know how I survived so long without her in it!!

She is in need of a desperate hair cut right about now, but the past few times I have gotten her groomed....the result has been a nightmare! The groomers I have tried cut her hair way to short and make her look like anything but a maltese.

I am looking for some guidance towards some traditional, or rather cute and functional, maltese specific hair cuts! Any suggestions welcomed, pictures would be fantastic as well!!

Welcome! You will find a puppy cut thread in the Grooming forum. You could browse through that and take reference pics to your groomer?

Welcome to SM!!! Your Lucy is adorable! She doesn't look like a mix to me. She seems to be all Maltese from your pictures.

I have my two in a "pseudo puppy cut" but I keep thier ears and tail long as I think it adds to their Maltese look but is easier to handle. You can see a picture of them below.

Hi, Lucy is adorable!! This is a great place with so much info. If you use the search bar above you will find lots of grooming cuts that people have done on their fluffs or have had done. My favorite cut on a Maltese is a Town and Country cut. Shorter body with long tail, legs and top of head for a topknot. Use the search bar above to look it up. Its the best, IMO anyway. I am sure no matter what you do to Lucy she will look great. Hope you stick around and we get to know you and Lucy.
