Default Welcome Blizzard!

Blizzard came to his new home in Alaska very very early this morning from Aria Maltese in California. He cried a little this morning, but played a little later in the day, and now is watching a movie wrapped up in a blanket with my daughter. He hasn't eaten yet, but he did drink some sugar water, and has had more water today. His vet appointment is tomorrow so hopefully they have some ideas on how to get him to take some food. He used his pee pad early this morning, but even after drinking water and playing, he hasn't gone again yet.

Two beautiful babies. Your furbaby will get use to being with you. I would try to give him something to eat again. Even maybe a little boiled chicken. Good luck and keep us posted on how he is doing and what the vet has to say.

Congratulations on your new baby, you have two little beauties there. I know with one of our members here her breeder suggested the gerber baby chicken sticks for when her pup wouldn't eat when he first came home.

Hi and welcome to SM! Blizzard is a cutie pie! I'm sure that he is stressed from the trip that is causing him not to eat. Gerber chicken sticks(baby food item) might help to stimulate his appetite, or little bits of cooked chicken. Also wetting the food with warm water or a little chicken broth may help. Hope that he begins eating soon, you can hand feed him also.

Welcome Blizzard: I feel eating will come as soon as he gets the feel of his new surroundings. He came quite a distance to be sure. My little one didn't eat or drink all Christmas Day as she was with 28 people when she is used to being with only my husband and I. Once Boxing Day came, she made up for the meals lost the day before. It will come but some boiled chicken might give him an appetite.

So cute! I'm sure he's just unsettled. I know us humans get out of sorts with long trips. I hope he is better in the morning. I love the name, too.

Welcome Blizzard, great name. A tiny bit of naturally (sugar) sweetened applesauce can also stimulate his appetite. Use unsweetened or sugar sweetened - do not use anything with artificial sweetner - or make it youself. Just apple, sugar, optional tiny bit of salt and a few drops of water - cooked down.
