Good morning everyone! My name is Sherry and I love maltese! I have owned 2 boys, both of whom have moved on. They were both puppy mill boys and certainly had their problems. I loved Ceasar for 7 1/2 years, and Rocco for 8 years. Rocco was our heart and just left us a month ago. It's still hard. We see a puppy in our future and have been looking. Just can't seem to commit quite yet. I enjoy your forum! Our new puppy will definately be from a bonafied breeder!

![]() Sherry, so happy to have you as a new member! I know you will find lots of help here on SM---we are a close-knit group and many of us have become real (not just virtual) friends through dog-shows or maltese meet-ups, etc. There are some great ladies here & we are starting to add some male members also! My DH is sort of an "SM wanna-be" kind of member! We look forward to your new baby & pictures, etc. We are all "Aunties & Uncles" who dote on each other's babies! I hope you enjoy being a member!

Welcome!! I'm so sorry about your fluffs! I lost my little Yorkie of 9 years in August. I miss him terribly! My Leila was not a "replacement" for him, but she has brought me a lot of love and excitement. I hope you find your new baby soon (when you're ready) and post lots of pictures.

Welcome Sherry!
I am a newbie here too and just found SM in December. I know how painful it is to lose our babies. I lost my 17 year old Maltese in August and my beloved 11 year old Golden way too soon in May. I felt like I was carrying a permanent heavy weight in my heart, it hurt so much. I brought home my new baby Maltese Ivy in early November and she has helped me heal so much. I still miss my other dogs terribly but Ivy keeps me laughing all day and there is nothing like laughter to heal a wound. She is also a confirmed snuggly-cuddler and having that loving warm bundle of fluff to hold has helped too. I hope you too soon find a new baby to bring home to help heal your hurt. |

Hi Sherry - I'm so sorry about Caesar and Rocco. They both were gone way too soon. I'm happy that you found us. I owe finding my Tyler to this forum. Please carefully research before you get another pup. There are lots of adorable Maltese in Rescues and Shelters these days, unfortunately who I know would bring you joy. If not, steer clear of pet shops (they all get their dogs from puppy mills) and BYB's. There are several threads here about finding a reputable breeder and the AMA suggested breeder list is a good place to start. Where are you located?

Thanks to all of you for your kind words! I am looking at a couple breeders. Snowbody, I'm located in Arkansas. I actually have pics of some babys, just not sure the time is right yet.
