So glad you found us. Mocha is so cute. He's got the biggest eyes. ![]() That's what always gets me...the eyes. He looks like a Maltese to me. Does he ever have problems eating things with the cleft palette? I know that it can be a problem when they're little and can't nurse and sometimes surgery is done. From the looks of him, and the weight, he eats just fine![]() Glad you joined us. We have a few members from Australia and hopefully they'll see your post too.

what a cutie!!
he looks like a Maltese to me, but if I had to guess I'd say maybe Shih Tzu because I have a little Mal-Shih who has a very pronounced underbite as well!

Thank you again for your heartwarming messages.
@Malt Shoppe - Yes! It's those big dark round eyes that capture my heart. @Snowbody - Mocha previously had surgery to extract a couple of teeth and the vet also attempted to stitch up the cleft palate. However, the gums were too inflamed and it would not hold. But thankfully, after the surgery, the gum healed over leaving the gap smaller than before. Before surgery, Mocha would sometimes get food stuck and he would constantly lick the area to try and get it out. He also sneezes a lot too, but does not have any problems with eating. I am planning to speak to the vet again and organise another attempt to repair the gap. Hopefully it will be successful this time. @Piccolina - You are so creative! I love it. Thank you

to SM and Hello to Australia from Germany!Mocha is such a Cutie and I love his adorable face and expressive dark eyes! I know why you can't resist, Lol! To me he looks like a maltese with a little bit of Bichon Frise inside. I think his hair curls because it's short. Alexandra
