So, this weekend I gave Gucci a bath and when I was brushing her, her hair was tangled. I use "It's a 10" on my hair and it was on the bathroom counter, so I sprayed a bit on her. I was actually REALLY happy with her coat afterward. It's extremely soft and it made it much easier to brush through. My concern is: Is this bad to use on her??? I don't see any reason it would be, but I wanted to ask if anyone thinks it might be for some reason.

I use John Frieda products on Laurel, because of her cottony coat. So far that works better than the doggy products on her.

Gustave's breeder said we could use human products on his hair. I don't myself because I'm paranoid, but just putting it out there.

Also want to add, brushing out the tangles before the bath when the hair is dry works out really well for us.

I always make sure all tangles are brushed out prior to bathing. I sometimes use PurePaws, sometimes John Paul (Paul Mitchell's doggie line.) I have used many over the years.

I would think its ok to use it as long as its not too much, like you're not getting much on the skin just to be safe.
Before giving Cici a bath I make sure to brush out all the tangles while her hair is dry. The ones I can't brush out I just snip it off real quick, they're usually really small so it's not noticeable when I cut it. When Cici had longer hair I made sure to be gentle when scrubbing her hair during the bath. After the bath while her hair is still wet I use a little bit of kinky curly knot today and rub it in her hair (got that tip from other members in this forum!), it makes her hair soft since she has really cottony hair.

I really need to go get her groomed but I am petrified they are gonna ruin her hair. She looks adorable, but everyone likes to play (in other words tassle her hair) with her too much that it's impossible to keep her from getting tangles. NTM when she goes potty, it leaves a mess on her behind. |
