I used to own Yorkies and kept them short with scissors so when I inherited Harry I took him to the groomers but as the maltese hair grows so fast it was too expensive and he didn't come back with anything that didn't look too hard so I bought some clippers, rang my girlfriend who has poodles and does her own and promised her lunch
and conned her into helping me do Harry.i reckon for my first effort in many years and my first on a Maltese we did okay |

I'd like to learn how to groom Leila myself. But right now, we're having to wait on letting her hair grow out. I've had two groomers cut hair on her face after I specifically asked them not to. Take a pic of your so we can see.

Good job! I'm sure he will be cooler in his new cut.

You did a good job. I always wanted to try to groom my pups but I'm too scared.
I also have a Yorkie and noticed my Maltese's hair grows a lot faster than my Yorkies. Lily goes to the groomer twice as much! |

You are right Harry's coat grows very fast whereas the Yorkies didn't and theirs did not tend to get as knotty as his does if not brushed on a daily basis how I would brush his each night and sure enough next day there would be more especially under the armpits. But no more lol
