Default MUST HAVES ! Elizabethan Cone Substitute- Inflatable-

If you own a Maltese( or any sized dog/cat for that matter), a good thing to have is one of these inflatable collars that keep them from licking wound, picking at stitches etc. The ridgid cones can be uncomfortable and cause cuts or bruises....from pets fighting them.

I can speak from multiple uses that these inflatable collars are great. You just have to remember to take it with you to the vets when you expect to need it.
The pet can sleep with the cushioned collar as a pillow and be comfy.

This is a great thing to have " just in case" or before the spaying/neutering , anal surgery, etc.

I don't work for this company or PetCo. I just hate to see people buy the ridgid collars( vets charge for them) and then have problems. Better to have one of these for your baby BEFORE you need it.

These things are such a good idea--much better than the rigid plastic ones, for sure. And, I imagine, much much more comfortable for them.

My question:
Do you think the smallest size is small enough for a tiny maltese? I don't necessarily mean in terms of neck size, just that I can't even imagine Leila being able to move with that on. Or it would be dragging on the floor/too heavy for her to even lift her head up. I'd like to have one for Leila when it comes time for her spay, though, in case she decides to start picking at her stitches.

They are inflatable, so I don't think it would be too heavy. Measure her neck and look at the advertisement and it will tell you if it will fit her or not. I would rather have this than the big lampshade!!

Ashley - I know a lot of people here have put baby onsies on their Malts after spay/neuters, so that's another option for Leila.

Thanks for mentioning this product. I remembered it when going through this thread...

What a great coincidence that you posted it a few hours after I mentioned it in another thread.

We are looking for one for Diamond but we haven't seen them here in Toronto.
We will find one though because they are such a great idea... so much better than a cone.
