A couple days ago, I noticed one of Ozzie's eyes had green/gray discharge come out of the bottom. Cleaned it, then came home from work and noticed both eyes had some goop
I'm at work now, but the bf is at the vet with him as we speak! (one of the upsides of him working 2nd shift! )We are just hoping that it is just allergies and not conjunctivitis I know that it is treatable, but that is how poor Lisa lost her eye before we adopted her I'm also hoping this doesn't become a regular thing for Ozzie... my parents' Yorkie had TERRIBLE eye problems (almost as bad as his poor ears) where my they would have to clean the goop at least once a day. They finally got so bad (bulgy/swollen and incredibly red) that they decided to put him to sleep because they were affecting his quality of life and they did not want to put him through any surgeries at that point in his life. |

Laurel and Violet had conjunctivitis this summer, due to seasonal allergies, and being so dry. Violet!s cleared up right away, but it took Laurel's a while longer. Since it's been cooler and have had some rain, no problem. I'll bet Ozzie will get some ointment and be as good as new!!!

Yup, it's conjunctivitis...
Vet said he most likely contracted it from another dog, so I am a little concerned, but it seems unlikely that he got it from Lisa since we've had for her for 4 weeks now.. but Ozzie just went to the groomer this past Monday, so that seems more likely (but also a little alarming!). What do you all think?

It probably did come from the groomers. At least you know what it is and will treat it before its gets worse. Hope Ozzie feels better soon. Hugs to Ozzie and Lisa.

Maybe let your groomer know.... They may want to do a deep cleaning of their salon (or whatever it is called LOL).... Pink eye is so contagious

Absolutely, I'd let the groomer know. Be prepared for them to deny it could have come from there, but I'm sure it did. Hope Ozzie's eyes clear up soon!

I may indeed call and give them a head's up... they are a small place, it's Sudzy Puppy in Naperville for anyone in the area... ironically, the owner used to groom at Dog Patch (where we adopted Lisa from!) and my mom took our yorkie there for years and years and followed her down the street when she opened up her own place because she liked her so much
![]() I am just worried that poor Lisa doesn't get her one remaining eye infected!!!!! Hopefully we got Ozzie's ointment just in time! |

I'm glad he's got ointment for this. I've had fluffs with minor eye "studs" over the years and it's always cleared up quickly.
Thanks for letting me know the name - we are going to Groomingdales on Friday and I was hoping it wasn't her place.

But then again, she told me that one time at Dog Patch a girl (probably new!) either didn't shampoo Tiger or didn't rinse it out... either way he had to be re-washed! That being said, I may be switching groomers... actually, I think I will email the owner. I emailed/sent her a comment from the website mentioning Tiger and she replied very sweetly that she remembered him and gave us a $5 off coupon |
