Over here the 5th November is firework night however it now seems from halloween for a couple of weeks there are fireworks going off
![]() Last year when maizy was only a pup they didnt seem to bother her.....this year is a totally different story!!!! On the 5th lots of fireworks were going off near our house we put the tv on loud reassured her and cuddled her but she was shaking so much it was horrible and was panting LOADS, she kept running to our front door and standing there shaking with her tail firmly between her legs ![]() Then the following night at 2am i heard her jump off the bed onto the floor which is very strange for her then i heard another firework and realised why! I went to go get her and she was shaking again, i put the tv and sat up with her until she had settled down. WELL it seems tonight people have decided to have yet another night of fireworks and we have the same problem we have managed to calm her down and she is sleeping at the moment i just feel so sorry for her i have never seen her like this before and it breaks my heart!! We very nearly went out for dinner tonight and im so glad we didnt as she would have been petrified!! Does anyone elses fluffs react in the same way??

Lisa, sorry to hear your girl is not a firework lover.
Charlie's not afraid of fireworks, but my Dusty (previous doggie) was gravely scared. He would went into hiding in the morning of Dec 31 and would not get out till the next morning. Our vet gave us some pills to calm him down...can't really remember the name (it was in Europe). Here in States they sells the special drops that you can give them during the stressful times, travel, etc. There's a lot of brands - I'm familiar with Bach and Richard's natural homeopatic drops...both great for anxiety.... |

Two of my previous dog's were also afraid of fireworks and thunder. Mine now don't seem bothered by them. My neighbor has the thunder shirt for her Bouvier, and she says it helps.
