Don't worry, Tori. It is really unlikely that a young virgin would get pyometra. I think the very first indication is excessive thirst, as with any infection.

I would just let her be. It is a natural part of being a female. She probably feels a little different right now so may not eat as much or be a little more lethargic than normal, but it is all a natural stage of life. Unless you notice something is actually not right, she will be fine being treated as normal.

Wow. Heat cycles can be long! Will hope Grace's is short..... I'm trying to keep track of it on the calendar because I need to try and get her spayed before her next heat. I still think late Feb early March will be safe. THanks again You all are wonderful!

Ok question....Juliet has been in heat for almost 3 weeks! Not bleeding any more thou but still a little swollen
