Does Bella have luxating patellas? - Maltese Dogs Forum : Spoiled Maltese Forums

Hi I'm new to the forum and I have two Maltese's one aged 3 years named Bella and one aged 9 months named Zoey. Bella has a weird problem in her back legs and it looks as if she is double jointed to me. I have never seen her in any pain because of this, but I've always been worried about it because it like it could be painful.

Recently I've heard that a large percentage of Maltese's have luxating patellas and I started to wonder if this could be the problem that Bella has. Her leg has never gotten stuck in a position though and she has never really exhibited any hopping that is usually present in dogs with luxating patellas. Any ideas what might be wrong with Bella, if anything?

Her vet can easily check her knees. No xrays are even needed.

I would really recommend you get Bella checked asap.
