Yikes! I fear this will happen more and more if people become too freaked out to vaccinate their pets. Just like with childhood vaccines.

Our ER vet told me last week that although there has not been rabies in Greece forever, it has recently appeared in Northern Greece. Hardly any vaccines happen here & we have millions of strays so it is another ticking Greek time-bomb---as if we don't have enough w/all the other stuff here! Our cat is no longer vaccinated (she is 10 and is almost always inside). When I was in the US she was scratched by a cat from next door who always comes to our balcony to torment her. If I am here I handle it but due to my absence. . . .I am taking her in on Monday for a general check up w/blood work, etc. She vomits & poops in the cage ALWAYS so I try to avoid it, but the time has come!
