Dewey... Again... He was fine after his neuter on Thursday, and great yesterday. He seemed to be extra hungry on Friday, and ate like a little pig. This morning he had a normal BM but then som diarrhea, and a small amount of vomiting. He also shivered some. Do you think that he ate too much yesterday and has an upset stomach, or what? I syringed some water into his mouth. He isn't going non stop diarrhea just a few times. His incision looks great . Yesterday he was a ball of energy, but I kept him in the x pen most of the day, today he is the opposite.

Deborah I can only go by human expierence after an op. your stomach can be great one day and awful the next maybe he still has some of the anaesthetic in him? Don't forget after an op humans and dogs need rest maybe he overdid things yesterday and just needs sleep and rest today. I'd keep an eye in his tummy upset. I think if your worried ring the vet they might be able to reassure you.
Sending hugs from daisy and myself

Oh
Poor Dewey.I'd definitely keep him quiet today and keep a close eye on him. You may want to call your vet just to let them know what is up. They may want to see him again. With Gus, he was allergic to the stitches. He started spiking fevers (and shivering). Might be a good idea to get a temp on Dewey if you can... Keep an eye on him in case you need to take him back into the vet today. Hugs for Dewey. I hope it's just that he over did it yesterday and will be okay with some rest.

I'm sorry Dewey is not feeling well..several things come to mind..if he is on any pain med, this could cause those symptoms...it sounds like he was wild yesterday and that is a possibility...in any case you need to call your vet as this is not normal...I agree he needs to be confined and kept quiet..keep us posted...

I hope it is just from eating so much yesterday. Pain meds usually cause constipation. I wonder if he would eat a little rice with some chicken broth. That's what's my vet had me do with a puppy with those symptoms before. I still would call the vet and let them know how he's doing. I hope he feels better!
