I found my vet through a coupon
I had a free office visit for Banfield vet clinic (the ones inside petsmart) and I wanted to a meet and greet and discuss vaccines and such, and I loved our vet from the start, before she got in there I could tell Sophie was shaking and nervous. When the vet got in there Sophie calmed down and started playing, I could tell that my Sophie liked her, and that's one of the most important things to me when picking things out for her. I also got a really good feeling from her. She was so sweet and informative and calmed my fears which is nice, I can be so paranoid. She seemed really knowledgeable about small breeds. It was just a good fit all together.Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Having a good vet is so important. I had the same vet for 27 years and when he retired I was panicking for sure. He had saved the lives of many of our pets and had become a close friend. Olson's phoned and asked where we wanted our cat and dog files to be transferred. They suggested one in our area. I love our new vet clinic. I never wait long to get in unless there is an emergency. When our mini Schnauzer got sick last January, Dr. Machel knew right away what might be wrong. I was amazed at the amount of time she spent with me when we went in. The same goes when I take my cat in; his vet never rushes. She always has time to rub his belly and kiss him a hundred time. As they do in-house testing, I would get blood work results so fast. When we had to put Sullivan to rest in May, she and the rest of the staff comforted me (I was a total basket-case) and made sure I was okay before I left. I think your best bet is to ask friends and relatives about their vets. Go in and get a tour of their facility and ask questions. We pay good money for our pet care and I think we deserve good service and caring staff.

I found my vet on Yelp. I believe people write bad reviews more readily than good reviews so I was pretty impressed with reviews I read about my vet. So far we love him.

If you had an apt. I would not have waited that long. That is ridiculous. Yes vets are busy and emergencies happen but did they say anything to you about an emergency or why they were so backed up?
