Caught Bella scooting her hiney on the floor this morning
Should I be concerned about this? When I had the groomer he would express her anal glands, I haven't had her groomed for the last few months cause I wanted her coat to grow out for the winter. Should I take this on myself? Not sure I want to do this

Unless you know what you are doing, don't express her anal glands yourself. Get her to the vet and you can ask them to teach you how. It's not hard (just kind of yucky) but can cause damage or be painful if done wrong.

I am so glad you asked this ? ... My Ari just started doing it... He was just at the groomers but I don't know of she did it. However we go to the vet Friday!

If she did this once, I would not be too concerned. Daisy scoots on her behind if she has just pooed and there is a small piece that did not fall off. She did this Sunday morning. Guess where she scooted it off? On the carpet in the bedroom!! I had to get her in the tub and give her a little butt bath. Then I had to clean the spot on the carpet!! All of this before 8:00 a.m. If she scoots a lot, then by all means, take her to the vet BUT check her little bottom first (and the carpet).

I have to take Steve and have his glands expressed every 6 weeks or so. I have the vet do it, it's $25 a pop. I'll pay that happily!! I would definitely have your vet check her out. When I took Steve in for the first time (he was a rescue and I'd had him for a couple months before I figured out something was up), they said it was really bad and if I'd waited much longer he could have gotten an infection. So it could just be an itch, but if she is one that needs her glands expressed for her, you don't want to wait too long or it can cause major problems.

She has had all her de-worming treatments so I'm sure it's not that. She hasn't done it since yesterday that we are aware of. My dad is here for a visit and has been watching her during the day and hasn't seen her scooting
we will continue to keep an eye on her. Thanks for all the advice!!!
