I'm somverynsorry about this diagnosis. As others have said, we have several members who have first hand experience - search for GME or NME. I hope that you will have success with the meds for little miss Bianca!

Thanks everyone! I definitely plan on sticking around. I'm glad you suggested seeing the neuro before, that was my plan if the vet didn't pull through the last time we took her there. The neurologist we are seeing is wonderful. I'm glad we found him.
Bianca turned one on September 20 of this year. We've had her since December 26 of last year. (B-versary is coming up soon!) I would very much like to alert her breeder. I have her name, but have had no luck finding her. The story on how we ended up with little B: my boyfriend bought me a fish tank for Christmas, to try to deter me from wanting a puppy. We went to Petland to buy fish. As soon as we walked in, a sales associate handed me Bianca, and I couldn't leave her. I'm not normally an advocate of buying puppies from those stores, because I know the stories behind a lot of them. But I fell in love and couldn't leave her. I can contact Petland to see if they can give me more information on her breeder (seems as if she came from Missouri, I think) so that I can call them. But I have a feeling I might not get very far. I told Andy that it worried me that she came from a puppy mill, or something to that effect. I worry about her little brothers and sisters and what might have happened to them after dealing with this.I'll have to look up info for her condition on here. It's hard to try and find time to be on the site, but hopefully soon I'll have a bit more free time on my hands. As of right now, I use my free time at work (okay, my lunch break) to browse. Thanks a million for all of your messages. I'll keep updating on her status. As of yesterday, she seems to be in better spirits. Even going after her favorite toys and playing with us. Hopefully she continues on that path! |

Thank goodness you didn't just listen to the vet and wait it out. I have had a bad expereince also with a vet and it really is important sometimes to get another opinion. It does now sound like your in the right hands and she can live life with meds and be fine. Thank you for posting your story. Prayers and hugs to you and Bianca.

![]() Do you have any recourse with Petland? Did you get a year guarantee? Of course it probably just covers giving you another puppy and you certainly don't want more heartbreak. I am so sorry about Bianca. Where do you live? North Carolina State Vet School is very knowledgeable about GME: http://www.yorkieangelpatrol.com/gme.htm

Yeah, like I said...they gave me her name, but I had my doubts even when we first bought her. Especially after I tried to do some research and couldn't locate a breeder by that name anywhere. I feel so sorry for all of the puppies there. I know they need and deserve good homes but I don't know if I could ever do it again. I'll have to look at all the papers from when we purchased her to see what they say. I'm sure they won't do anything but say they're sorry and that they can't do anything about it. It makes me very angry to think about it.
We live in Columbus, Ohio. We took her to Med Vet. I read up on her neurologist - he has a lot of background in dealing with these types of conditions. I appreciate everyone's help, support, and suggestions! |

If you want to give me the breeder's name and state I can probably find her. You can pm me if you don't want to share it publicly. You should inform Petland, too.

I'll get the info when I get home and PM you. Perhaps between the two of us, we can pull some detective work. I'll call Petland as well, and let them know.

Bless your heart; I'm so sorry Bianca has these issues. I've dealt with seizures in my precious Mimi in 2011, very scary.
I hope this new specialist will be able to help Bianca.
