Laurel, I hate the cold weather so I stay indoors when its too cold. But I agree with the others if you can get Sammy a coat it sure would help and go out for a short time.

Teddy is strictly trained to do her business outside, so regardless of rain/snow/windchill we're outside at least three times a day. Here in Ontario it gets seriously cold, but it's nothing that a good quality winter jacket and dog booties can't combat. On days that we get extreme cold warnings we quickly run outside and right back in, but on normal winter days Teddy has no problem prancing around outside, as long as she's bundled up.
So like others have said, a good jacket and booties are your best bet! Stay warm little Sammy!

My babies are very little only 5 weeks old. They are not vaccinate yet so I refuse to take them out. However the pee and poop everywhere. They also step down their bed to pee. They would not pee inside their bed. I need to start training them but they are so little.

I live in Canada where it gets very cold too.
![]() I asked my Vet, and he said zero degrees Celcius is the cut off. So I would ask your Vet's opinion too. I dress mine in parkas & take them out for very short walks.

In the winter we go out for short walks up and down the street until the temp gets to about 20 F which I think is about -5 to -10 for you all. They have coats and we just go to the corner and back so they get some exercise and fresh air. Any colder than that, and we stay inside.
