Yeah, I would probably take him in, just to be safe. They will probably just give him something to take. But, like the vet said when I brought the lab in, there could be something inside the foot so it's better to try to treat it and see if it heals.

Thanks! I will try it. I've been spraying colloidal silver on it. Isn't helping. So thinking it is injured not outer infection at least. But I have those so will try it today and over night.

Yeah. Waiting for vet to call with time for tomorrow. He gets so nervous with anyone else so if she can see us tomorrow that is best.

He is definitely quiet today. Curled up in his bed. I know he is hurting. This is how he acts when his foot allergies act up and he gets sores in his feet. But no fever and he will play if Grace totally bugs him so not too worried... Like not evet worried. But will definitely get him in tomorrow.

So our vet is out tomorrow. She may go in for a short time so might be able to see him.

She will call tonight to get a better idea.... If he needs to see the other vet there who knows Grace or if he could wait til Monday which it may resolve by then.

She said to try the EOs Janine suggested. But if the silver isn't helping its probably not an external infection.

Said to use a gel ice pack for 10 minutes a few times through day incase its an injury.

She will call later to talk.... Help figure out if its urgent. Which I don't think it is.

Of course if he worsens in any way I will take him in to see the other vet. But if it can wait til she can see him that's best. He gets so worked up... He's good and doesn't objet to being handled but he shakes terribly and gets so scared. Even if they leave their white coat outside.

Will update after she calls.

Will see her tomorrow at 11.... She is going in so said we could come in at that time.

Thinking maybe it's badly bruised. But since he's so quiet and just not himself, we are going to get it looked at.

My foot is infected

And it's my birfday tomorrow

And the vet only had PINK tape to wrap it

Poor Gussy.... His dewclaw is infected. She said good I brought him in because it probably would have been oozing by Monday

He was such a trooper.... let her clean it out and then put some stuff on it, wrapped it up. She gave us lots of stuff so we can wash and reapply and rewrap for the next weekish....

Said it's like if a person were to get an infected cuticle and nail bed .... ouch

He's kind of mopey now, I'm sure it hurts. ... The techs said they wished they had blue tape for his birthday LOL They gave him extra love though

Poor little Gus. I'm glad that you took him in and that it's not really serious. I'm sure he will be much better soon, but I do bet this really hurts.

Happy Birthday, Gus. Pink is a pretty color -- even for a GUY!!!!
