Thanks
![]() He is still not feeling well, and he threw up twice yesterday. Still whining in the afternoons and evening when the limping is at it's worst. But the redness is down by about 1/3 so that is promising ![]() She's concerned there's something else going on. Since his regular labs came up normal a few weeks ago she doesn't think it's anything related there...but ran general labs again just to check. His white cells were higher confirming there's an infection...but other than that his levels are normal. So we are doing the tick panel again - since he was exposed back in late spring... early summer... The tick was attached to the left side of his neck and it's the left leg...so who knows. I know that Lyme and coinfections are tricky things and would definitely not be shocked if that is what is causing this. If anything comes back positive - even just barely, she is going to treat him. Also testing him for Valley Fever, which is high out here. Very common. And since we live in a community that is still building, that is a genuine possibility. Our yard isn't finished yet.... My dad wanted to wait a year to see how the yard drained, etc to figure out where to plant what.... so Gus has been running around in the dirt, which is where VF lives. She said it's possible he got some up in his nail and that it's presenting this way... she's seen many different presentations of it so she wouldn't be surprised if he tests positive and that is what this is... After we figure it out and he heals she will be discussing removal. He's had too many issues with them and it will just keep happening. So best to just take them off. But she wants to know what is going on first so if it is anything it can be treated. We won't know until after the holidays.... Unfortunately. If the vet on Monday hadn't been so quick to dismiss things and actually done her job (good vet's words, not mine) then the labs would be back by Friday. She was upset the other vet didn't take the time to listen and see the infection going on. The redness has gone down but even today she could see where the line going up was and the bottom pad... Oh well.... we are getting him worked up and will figure it out. Staying on the Amox, since it does seem to be kicking in and keeping him quiet. Will have more answers next week. I hate waiting

Tori, I am so sorry Gus isn't feeling well still. I too would be upset about the vet not following through and listening to you. We know our fluffs well enough to know when something is wrong. Anyway, at least the tests were done and you can now hopefull get some answers.
Prayers and hugs to you, Gus and Grace.
