In my last post, I asked if Gucci could have an ear infection. I had taken her to the vet because she was yelping when her ear was touched. The vet looked at her ears and said it looked SLIGHTLY red, but the swabs came back clear. She gave me some drops to put in her ear twice a day. As of now, she's only had two doses of it, but when she was playing, our other dog tapped her ear and she yelped and started barking and ran to hide.
Is this normal with an ear infection? If there was only slight redness and no bacteria, should it hurt THAT much to touch?? When should it stop hurting? I'm just worried that it's something else if the swab came back clear. |

When my Eerie would get an ear infection, he never yelled, he would just pull away from me when I would check it. If it!s not an ear infection, what did the vet say, is causing the redness?

Ouch, if she's yelping she has to be in pain, right? Gustave has only yelped so far when I accidentally pull on his knots while combing him so I'm assuming it's from pain. Could she be injured? Maybe she scratched her ear?

I don't know. That's what I'm worried about. I don't know how long I should expect the drops to take. But considering there is supposedly no infection, just redness, I don't know why it would be so painful!

I know this prb sounds weird but could it be an ingrown hair? I know bentley has some REALLY hairy ears even the vet was surprized at how much hair he has in there. So now when he get groomed they have to pull it out ..ouch.. but he seems to hear better. At times thou his ear gets a bit red and sore cause of an ingrown hair. Think about how painful they are when we get them.

Could be impacted gunk farther down the ear canal. Kris had that when we got him. Took about 3 weeks to clear. I'd at least call vet.
