Like mother like daughter
I have terrible environmental allergies and as previously posted I take Zyrtec daily for this. Unfortunately my house is a dust magnet I have to dust every Saturday and vacuum twice a week. My poor Bella is I'm pretty sure suffering from this as well I have a air purifier on order, actually 2. One for the living area where we spend most of our time and one for the bedroom. I also have picked up some allergy tablets from Petco for Bella, benedryl is just such a pain to me and to her. I was wondering if anyone has used these allergy tablets before?

Lady got Zyrtec also per the NC State Vet School. I would not be comfortable buying OTC allergy medications from PETCO, Petsmart, etc. Please check with your vet.
Air purifiers w/HEPA filters are a must for those of use with allergies. You also need to use a furnace filter with a MERV rating of at least 11 or 12 to filter put pollutants in the air. |

A whole tablet would be way too much. Lady got 1/4 tablet (she was about 8-9 lbs). Always check with your vet before self-administering OTC medications.

Gus has horrible allergies.... Environmental ones - dust, dirt (a dog allergic to dirt!), grass, pollens, etc....
He gets rashes and sores in his paws, red eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes and ears, red ears, ear infections, anal gland issues, and when it is at it's worst he will have Colitis flare ups....from environmental allergies! I was giving him OTC stuff for awhile. It helped a bit. Not for everything. Now I give him herbal tinctures - his skin hasn't been red or inflamed in months, no eye nose or ear problems, no itching, no anal gland issues, no gut issues. In fact, most other vets told me he just had a "reddish tone" to his skin. After a few months of being on the herbs his skin is a nice pinkish (normal skin tone) color... Took me a few weeks to get used to his new tone...it changed his eyes - before they were so red rimmed. We use Only Natural Pet Aller-7 tincture, their GI tincture (ONP is alcohol free), Traumeel (by Heel - for inflammation - I crush it into a powder), and another powder I'm forgetting the name...will look at it. I mix both Gus and Grace's meds in a little peanut butter and they get that "treat" every day ![]() Hope you can find something that works....
