Has anyone used Iverhart since Interceptor has been "stopped"?? I have to get Gucci her heartworm pills and don't know what to do. I haven't really seen many people on here comment yet, so I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet.

I use Iverhart on all of mine. We haven't had any problems.

Iverhart is the same ingredient as what is in Heartgard - ivermectin. If you had no problems with Heartgard, you'll be OK.

Same here. I use the Iverhart Plus up to 25 lb dog(Vet had to order it for me) You can get the Max up to 12 lb dog, but it has more wormers, which I don't want. My Vet said the amount of ivermectin in either one is nothing in comparison to amount he has to use to treat a sick dog (like mange) so he recommends the Plus for mine.

Iverhart is for heart worm, roundworms, etc, frontline plus is what I use for fleas and ticks. Comfortis is for fleas.

There is a Triflex which is for (heart worm & Fleas) maybe that is what you are thinking about. It's duel meds, so I don't care for it, because I would prefer to space flea protection two weeks apart from heart worm pill. I was giving the Confortis for fleas only, then my Vet said to stop if I don't see any fleas, so far none.

No, they offered me Trifexis, which is the dual one. Or they can give me Iverhart and Comfortis. But I seem to recall reading that it's bad giving those pills together.
I could be totally wrong, but I'd rather make sure before I do it. |

We give Henry Trifexis. It seems to work well, but it smells a little bad and apparently tastes horrible. I have to split it up and stick it in treats to get him to take it. Sometimes I end up having to force him to eat the little pieces (which I hate doing), but at least he doesn't get mad at me for it.

Is this true?? I have never had a reason to doubt my vet--he is the greatest-- but since my babies never go outside, he told me that my babies do not need heart worm meds. Anyone ever heard this?
