I hope the internist can come up with a protocol to help Roo.

Poor sweet baby. I pray this doctor can help little Roo.

I would hate to live in a world without dogs, glass, or wine...

Roo's electrolyte results were extremely low. We elected not to do any hospitalization. He was given another injection of Percorten to help raise his sodium level.
Roo's adrenal panel showed Atypical Cushing's disease and likely a "primary" aldosterone deficiency. The Cushing's can only be treated with mild melatonin therapy, not with drugs, because they would have a negative effect on his electrolytes. Along with his previously diagnosed diabetes insipidus (another hormone deficiency), Roo's endocrine system is shutting down.
We doubt he will survive too long...maybe a few months if he responds well...
