Since I brought Kelly to Panama from Venezuela I have noticed her nose is getting lighter. Venezuela is very sunny, but Panama is extremely cloudy; does this have anything to do with it? Could it be that she doesn't get as much sun here than she did there? Or does getting older ever make a Malt's nose loose their pigmentation?
Advice is highly appreciated!

My fluffs always get their noses lighter during winter. Its for the lack of sunlight. It goes black again during summer

That is very common and could be because of the lack of sunshine or just a loss of pigmentation which happens as they age. Its hard to know the real reason. She's beautiful no matter what.

In your case I would suggest lack of sun. Also try Herbal multi vitamin animal essential vits w/ PABA---and wait until Spring/Summer!

I believe it is from lack of sunlight. Bella's nose was coal black all summer long but it is a dark brown color this winter. The people that have the local feed store have a Maltese and he is always in the store. When he was a puppy, his nose was black but since he has started staying in the store all day, every day, his nose is almost pink!

Thanks everyone!! I'm going to try and have her get more sun when raining season ends
it should be about almost over! (raining season is our winter here which is pretty much all year round and summer starts around this time for only a few months) if it doesn't start getting darker then I'll give her the vitamins! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
