I noticed a couple days ago when I would take off her cone she would start pawing at her ears, I thought she was trying to take out her top knot but looking her do it today she's very obviously trying to her ears. Both of them. Just when she recovers from her spay (considered fully recovered Friday) now she has a possible double ear infection. My poor baby
I already called her vet, but the soonest appointment they have available is Friday, that's the sucky part of living in a small area, vet slots fill up fast. I feel so bad for my poor baby I hope she doesn't have an ear infection. Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

Can you smell something in there? Usually that's a sign of something being wrong.
Gustave also went for his ears after we took the cone off. But he really just wanted to scratch off the ickiness of the cone. Does she stop after a while? Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

Oh sweet Sophie
![]() Have you checked her ears for any mats? I have to comb Gracie's ears 3 times a day when she wears the cone all day.... Hope it's not an infection.... do they smell?

No they don't smell, I don't feel any mats, I went at her ears yesterday, that cone.... She doesn't do it for very long. I wonder if her skin is just bugging her because she hasn't had a bath in so long. It's not red or hot or anything, but could it still be bothering her?

Yes, it could be. Gustave starts scratching if he goes more than 10 days without a bath.

I also think it might be the cone. Gee, I guess I'm lucky. My vet's practice will always get us in same day for illness. My son's pediatrician used to do the same thing. But they also have multi-doctor practices.

Gosh, I hate that poor Sophie has to wait until Friday! Lady had an ear infection once when they couldn't see her the same day so they told me to swab her ear with a Q-tip and bring it in so the vet tech could test it. They did it while I waited and sent me home with medication.
