Does anyone give their dog this? If so what brand/kind do you give?
I have been searching and I don't now which to go with. Has anyone heard of Dermaquin Plus Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplement? My baby itches/bites and sometimes makes himself bleed. The vet told us it's allergies and most times changing food doesn't help, there's shots available but they don't always help. I have changed food several times and have tried Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, Dog Lovers Gold, Wellness and he is now on Taste Of The Wild Bison & Venison. He won't touch dry food unless it is mixed with canned and there is only 2 places to get quality dog food in my town (Tractor Supply & a feed store) and to order online is rough since most won't ship cans. Anyways I have read that fish oil may help with his issues so am willing to try. Any help is appreciated.

Lynn has a good thread going on right now about allergies - Oliver's Atopy Dermatitis thread.... Fish oil is a good thing to try and help his skin. It didn't work for Gus, though - his allergy issues persisted until we found our holistic vet and got him on herbals. If you can find a food that has only a few ingredients, that would be best. Here is a site that ships Freshpet Freshpet Raw-And-Frozen-Diets | PetFoodDirect.com That site will also ship cans. I'd read some on Lynn's thread tho Might find it helpful....

I give Bella Omega 3 wild salmon oil with her dinner. I think it's helping with her itchiness.

I have used Animal Essentials brand fish oil. The only thing with fish oil is that when its the liquid form and you put it in their food they don't like the smell and won't eat it. So I would not use the liquid for that reason.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I will go read that post about Oliver and will check into that Freshpet food link. I was going to feed him Freshpet but Giant Eagle is the only one to carry it here and I heard that theirs and Walmarts isn't the real deal so didn't go that route.

I use the liquid and Bella doesn't seem to mind it. It might be because she already eats Salmon and Potato kibble, but the kind that I have (GNC Omega 3 Wild Salmon Oil) doesn't have the strong fishy smell.
