Sounds like Penny is on the mend. How's Sammie's toe? Lots of kisses to all!

P.S. Kayla turned one a few weeks ago (yes, where have I been?). She'll get the distemper shot next. Eeeek!

Vet said this shot causes soreness, some you notice it more than others. take care.

Thanks Marie. I soaked it for about 10 minutes in a measuring cup with him standing in the sink...

his toe looks worse to me. I may have to wrap it to keep him away from it.

. Vet said should heal in a week or so, but if not come back.

Oh Brenda, I would bath / groom prior to shot, so if she is sore and it's hard to work on her. I was afraid to touch her.

I can't remember..is Sammie on an antibiotic? If it is still swollen, that concerns me...poor little dude..

Yes he on clavamox April. 3 more days worth. It's still swollen around base of nail. My guess is it's going to take another week of soaks to heal. Looks same to me.
April-it doesn't bother him. He not in pain I mean. Just licks it but it's less. this is going take longer than one week to heal. Thanks.

Kandis, it may be that you are dealing w/2 issues here rather than one. Nail issues are often fungus related & when irritated can be infected. It is possible that you need to deal w/fungus also---I use CC's Peace & Kindness for fungus as it has colloidal silver, and you can also try an apple cider vinegar rinse & then the CC's. Be sure & ask your vet first! Kisses to your Sammie boy!
Remember that fungus takes a good sweet time to cure!
