So, Sadie and Oliver are just fine, thank God! I took them to the vet this morning, with stool samples in hand. The vet could see through the container exactly what I was talking about, so off he went for fecal testing.

He came back laughing, and said that they both tested negative for round worms, although the round worm-like thing was definitely present in the sample. He petted Ollie, put his hand on my shoulder, looked me in the eyes and said, "Your babies have Ramen Noodleitis!"

It hit me just then . . . since the kids have been out of school for the summer, they've all been snacking on Ramen Noodles (something I normally do not buy). I guess some hit the dining room floor, and my lil' four-legged Hoovers decided I needed the night off from vacuuming!

I guess it's the nurse in me that continues to thoroughly examine everything that comes out of them.

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad they're ok, too. But I will never EVER look at Ramen Noodles the same way again! I didn't have the heart to tell the kids exactly what it was, though. They LOVE those darn nutrition-lacking, sodium-packed things! But with 3 teenagers in the house, what's a mom to do?
