Default Malt sitter in Sacramento, AACK!

So I've been planning a trip for a while now to fly back east to visit some friends. I'll be gone from the 17th to the 23rd of this month. My boyfriend was supposed to be watching the fluff butts while I was gone. Well, we just found out that he has to be gone on a business trip! My only option at this point it to board them, which I really, really don't want to do because of cost. The only friends I have in the area, frankly I wouldn't trust with my babies (either have young kids or large dogs or no experience with malts). Anyone have any idea on finding someone reliable?

Pardon me while I tear my hair out!

My vets' staff (also in Sacramento) suggested someone who used to work in their offices. I never used her, just never traveled after Spunky got ill. But I could relay the info to you if I can find it or get it again.

I don't know what her rates are--it might end up being as expensive as boarding, but it might be less stressful.

Anything special she or I should know about your fluffs? Are they papertrained? How many times she'd have to visit, medications, etc.?

You can send me a private message if you prefer.

Oh I do hope you don't have to board! Hopefully mss's contact will work out! Besides vet offices, look at your local pet supply places-they will often have a wall of cards for different pet services. Also try petsit.com and petsitters.org to find professional pet sitters in your area-the last one seems to be down at the moment though. Good luck!

They are both potty trained to go outside, neither of them will use potty pads, the little boogers. They play with them, but that's about it. Neither needs medication or anything else. Anyone you could recommend would be great!

I'll check out those other options! Thank you for the responses!

Oh Chrissy, I know you must be pulling your hair out, but I would check with my vet, that would be my first resource for a reccomendation for a pet sitter, and get to meet them, get references and all that. Oh, I wish you the best!!!

Good idea to ask at your own vet's!

I've sent you a private message with some information about someone who works at my vet's and does petsitting.

Problem has been solved! My husband will be back from his trip in time after all. The pups will be home while he is at work, but they'll be ok. It will just be for a week. Thanks for the help everyone!

So glad your hubby will be home in time. That could not have worked out better for you fluffs and I am sure it will give you peace of mind too

I'm glad your situation worked out. Hope all goes well on your trip, and at home. See you on the boards after a while!
