I'm watching Madonna of the Mills and I'm sick.

There are so many little Maltese pups in cages for breading purposes. Sick and sad!

I've never heard of that show. I'm not sure I could watch it. It makes me so mad that the people who have puppy mills are not only allowed to do it some places, but that they can even allow themselves to do it. I don't understand how people can bring little lives into the world in such horrible conditions. It's so sad!

Yup, you are correct. This is NOT a reality show, and everyone should watch it.

This show is about putting an end to Puppy-Mills. We cannot stop this, if we walk around with "blinders" on. Sure it's tough to watch, and many of us do not need to see it. But obviously there are more out there who need to be educated. Or the mills, puppy stores, BYB's would NOT be supported, and thriving on the backs of these poor dogs.

Wake up EVERYONE!! You hate to wake up to reality? How do you think these poor dogs feel? Stand up! Let's give a voice to those who cannot speak of their torment.

99% of puppies sold in pet stores come from puppy mills.
Nearly 100% of all puppies in pet stores have parasites when they are purchased.
48% of puppies being sold in pet stores were ill or incubating an illness at the time of purchase, according to a recent California study.
500,000 puppies are born in puppy mills and sold in pet stores every
year in the United States.
There are 35,000 pet stores in America
Puppy millers can make more than $300,000 growing puppies every year.
Puppy mills have been around since the early 1960s.
Almost every Puppy sold in a pet store has a mother who will spend her entire life in a tiny cage, never being petted, never being walked, never being treated like a dog.
Female dogs are usually bred 2x a year. At that rate, they usually burn out by age 5, at which time they are put to death.
About 1 million breeder dogs are confined in puppy mills throughout the country.

I'm 99% sure my rescue came from a puppy mill and thinking about her poor parents breaks my heart. I wish I could find them and save them too :-( and rescue all the others while I'm at it :-( how can people be so cruel?!?
