So I have a yucky seasonal cold, the classic head/chest congestion, coughing and a sore throat thing. No worries, this is not a whining post
. It's just a cold. Last night I was coughing a lot and the thought crossed my mind that if I were ever to have to be admitted to the hospital (gotta keep colds away because of my heart stuff), that Bella would be so upset. Call it crazy, but I became obsessed with getting better asap. It completely broke my heart to think that she would not know where her Mommy was or how to get to her. Maybe its just the cold, but seriously yall, I got really panicked at that thought. We had 2 beautiful big babies before Bella, and while I adored and missed them when I was away, it was nothing like the way I worry over Bella. Anyway, do you guys ever worry about such things, or have we spoiled Bella and ourselves so much that we need to "cut the cord" a bit? She's our baby for sure.

Bridget---hearing you loud & clear.
A yr. ago last fall when the blaring ambulance took me to the hospital my last words to DH were "don't come to the ER until the pups are fed & walked & settled down." And he was thinking "I may never see her again" and all she thinks of are the dogs! They are our babies, and most especially since you have no skin kids---if mine are spoiled, then yours more so! What can I say---that cord doesn't cut easily, my friend!

We were supposed to go away on a trip this winter, possibly Jamaica, and I backed out of going because I couldn't stand the thought of being away from Pipper for a whole week.

You're definitely not alone, Bridget! I've been sick with a sinus infection and vertigo and after almost having a nervous breakdown because of not getting better soon enough, I had Zooey go stay with my sister, 20 min. away, so I can fully rest. I cried when she left even though it's just for the weekend and Zooey always has a great time there. I miss her! I can't imagine going on a long vacation anymore, and the only little trip I have planned this season involves Zooey being right there with me

We didn't go out last New Year's Eve, because I was afraid we would get in an accident on the road, and worried about the kids. It may be nuts, but I won't be going out this year either.

Bridget, I feel the same way. They become so attached to us and we to them that just the thought of being away for a long time is too much. We even take Zoe on vacation with us that's how bad we are. Your not alone on feeling that way. I hope you feel better soon. I just got over that last week. Hugs to you and Bella.
