I guess people are already getting their trees and everything. I wasn't a member this time last year.... but I do this reminder everywhere I can:

If you bring any real decorations into your home:

A real Christmas tree
A real wreath
Real garland
Twigs or branches
Pinecones

Please remember to check your family - skin and fluffy - weekly for ticks!

They climb into the trees to hibernate over winter (Ticks can go 6 months without a meal!) ... and then we bring the tree into the house, it is warm and cozy, the ticks wake up and hunt.

Many cases of Lyme Disease start over these next few months but are ignored because it is winter. No one thinks that the ticks can come in on the trees!

Please check your family for ticks if you are using any of those items or if you are staying over at anyone's home who has those.

Yuck! We do fake everything so that won't be a problem for us!

Tori, I never thought of that. Great thing to know....I love real trees but don't usually get one because of the mess they make with the pine needles.
